Hello Friends and Family,

A bowling alley. Except there is something different here. Looking carefully, I realized these were duckpins instead of the more common ten-pins. This variety is common in Maryland (where I grew up and in adjacent states). The pins are shorter and squatter while being placed in the exact same layout as for ten-pins. The ball is smaller (just a bit bigger than a softball) — with no finger holes. In fact, if a bowler were able to hit the 1-pin dead on, he might also hit the 5-pin and not touch any other pins. Then if he bowls the ball along the exact same path, it would go through the vacated space in the middle of the other eight pins still standing — hitting none of them. Another difference is that in each frame you are allowed to roll three balls instead of just two.

Next to the bowling alley is a casual dining area with a limited menu. It looks like a customer could get food service in the bowling alley as well as in the dining area. And don't forget the ubiquitous big-screen televisions. You would not want to miss the Olympics, n'est-pas?

And next to the dining area is a bar. I assume they ask for an ID and also make sure that you have not been drinking before driving the electric go-karts. 😂

Continuing on the next wall, one finds a nice array of skill games — for those not interested in the racing theme.

I see a T-Rex on the far screen, heading my way. I'm glad he's not actually moving — I don't think I could focus on the game. Originally, I thought this was some kind of pinball game but the more I look at it, my original impression seems way off base. Someone will have to explain it to me.

Next, this looks like an immersive Jurassic Park adventure. It looks like a lot of fun but I figure I'd run out of cash before defeating even one dinosaur.

Follow the yellow brick road and maybe you'll find a fist full of gold coins — maybe somewhere over the rainbow.

Oh, the claw, the claw! As I recall, the claw starred in Toy Story. I guess Woody and Buzz invited some of their off-screen friends to join the fun. 🤣

Luiji? Where Mario? This Luiji is probably as big as some of the younger kids coming into Andretti's.

Asphalt Legends!!! Although this is not my genre, I can sense the excitement one would feel climbing into the seat and seeing how well (and fast) you could drive one of these race cars. The same (or a similar) version exists on many gaming platforms so I suspect the people playing this one would be pretty good.

This looks like fun too, albeit on a suped-up motorcycle. BTW, if you fall in love with this game you can buy one online for only $12,499.00.

Now that he has racked up those points playing the various video games, it is time to trade them in for prizes. Decisions, decisions, decisions.

Andretti's really looks like a fun place. Johnny has been there too and he enjoyed it very much. If you go, let me know about your experience.

Life is good.

Aloha,
B. David
